It’s what’s on the inside that counts Local Dirt © As mowing becomes necessary, be certain that the blade is sharp to prevent tearing the grass tips. Set the blade on your lawnmower to cut the grass at 2½ inches to avoid scalping. (A mulching blade will eliminate the need to rake or bag the clippings, prevent thatch buildup, and the clippings will provide food for the lawn.) Time Traveler A. E. Culver retired as agent for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Chestertown after more than 43 years with the railroad company in June of 1961. In September of 1988, three borrowed Maryland Railroad Commuter Line rail cars brought Gov. Wm. Donald Schaefer into Chestertown for his Governor’s Crab Feast. The State Rail Administration ran a special passenger train from Townsend, Delaware to Chestertown and the public enjoyed train rides from Chestertown to Worton and back.
